Structural Fabricator (El Paso)

American Buildings – Illinois (a division of Nucor) is hiring Structural Fabricators in El Paso, IL.
This role performs fit-up, tacking, and welding on structural assemblies. If you have a high school diploma (or equivalent), have passed AWS welding and Canadian certification, and can read a tape measure, square, and blueprints — we want to hear from you.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Pass AWS welding and Canadian certification
• Ability to read tape measure, square, and blueprints

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Able to read and understand weld symbols
• Experience using an arc gouger
• Previous crane certification
• Material handling experience
• Minimum 1 year related experience
• Welding background with knowledge of standard procedures
• Trained and confident in overhead crane use

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform fit-up, tacking, and welding on structural assemblies
• Follow all weld standards and procedures
• Add stiffeners, brackets, plates, and other components per prints
• Use clamps, jigs, tape, square, arc air gouger, torch, and plasma safely and effectively
• Operate overhead cranes
• Maintain required records and documentation
• Inspect and report faulty equipment, materials, or conditions
• Keep work area and equipment clean and orderly
• Follow all safety rules, regulations, and quality standards
• Perform other duties as needed and support your team
