I will be student teaching in the spring of 2010, hence the reason for the need to sublease my apartment second semester. Although I am very sad to be leaving ISU to teach back home, this apartment is truly a real gem and one you should not hesitate to inquire about and sublease for this coming semester! This apartment is 10 minutes (walking) to campus and 5 minutes from Uptown Normal (which features a myriad of bars, restaurants, and local businesses which are a great facet to the area and are a blast to visit and peruse) which has been a very welcome convenience and something that has proved to be extremely advantageous over this past semester.
The apartment itself is gorgeous, which is the reason why I leased it in the first place. The apartment comes fully furnished with quality furniture, some even newly added this past summer! There is a very nice eat-in kitchen, along with newly remolded cabinets, counter-tops and appliances; the kitchen also includes a dishwasher, microwave and large refrigerator. The apartment also features a spacious bedroom complete with an enormous closet (I have a fair amount of clothes and books and I did not even come close to filling it!) so for all of you looking to get out of those cramped 2x5 bedrooms found in other apartments on campus, this apartment is the one for you! The bathroom is also nicely furnished with a large linen closet useful for stocking sheets and towels and there is a coat closet in hallway leading to the bedroom so stock other such things as the vacuum, coats, umbrellas, boots, and so forth. The apartment also has an air-conditioning unit as well as heater, both which I have used many times and which I have been very pleased with on those sweltering days and chilly nights :) Other then that, the washer/dryer is located right outside my door, so it is a two-step walk to the unit, which is beyond convenient to get your washing/drying done. High-speed internet is included as well as all utilities with each rent payment, so paying rent is a very simple affair. One check to Sami (the apartment lender) of $595 is all that is needed, so that means you don't have to pay separately for utilities (gas, heat, water, electricity) and to receive fast internet. As a side note, the complex houses all double apartments, so that is the reason why mine is so large (it is the size of a double)! Other then that, my complex is extremely quiet, so you will not have to worry about loud neighbors on Wednesday nights when you are trying to study or on the weekends when you have to go to bed early to be up for work the next morning.
Please do not hesitate to email me about this apartment--I am super flexible to your schedule if you would like to view the apartment or set up an appointment over the phone to further inquire with any questions you may have! Again, this is a great apartment--one that I have loved living in this past semester. It has all the amenities that you could possibly want, is quite large, all utilities are included, it is one of the cheapest singles on campus, close to Uptown Normal and the ISU campus (and a five minute drive to Veterans Parkway) and could be yours for the next semester :)
Use the email through Craigslist and I will get back to you asap!
